Another cool tech demo to run in Chrome

Thanks to Benjamin Joffe for another great example of Chrome’s speed.

For those who are interested in testing out the speed differences between Chrome and your other browser, I’ve found another variation on the “Wolfenstein” like demo running in Javascript.

It looks a little nicer and even has a “mini-map” to show you where you are in the level.

And yes, for me it runs much better in Chrome than Firefox.

See Ben’s demo here.

Unchrome – Free Privacy App To Remove Unique ID Chrome Creates About You

by admin · 1 Comment

To easily “zero out” the unique identifier Chrome, Google and others can use to identify you, Ablesoft in Germany has created the “unchrome” application.

It’s a simple application that looks like this.

After you download it, shut down Chrome, run “unchrome” and you’ll see a screen like this:

From here, simply click on “Remove unique ID now” (why isn’t this a button?).

After you do that, you’ll see the screen below indicating success:

You can download “unchrome” free from Ablesoft here.

Kudos to Codeweavers for Crossover Chromium

Kudos to Codeweavers for releasing Crossover Chromium so Mac and Linux users can experience the goodness of the Google Chrome browser.

Codeweavers CEO Jeremy White talks about the challenge he put to the team to “to ship ported versions of Chromium for Mac and Linux, and I wanted to do it as fast as possible” in his blog here.

Great job guys. You’ve made a large number of Mac/Linux users very happy today.
