More and more reports are trickling out about Google Chrome OS sightings.
Tech Crunch’s MG Siegler article on Oct 12 talks about his discovery of the “Chrome OS” folder during his daily visit to download the latest Chromium for the Mac.
Johnathan Frederickson talks about his experience of trying out the OS build on his blog “Living in a Google World”. There are also some screen shots there.

The Google Revolution and Sun Tzu’s “Art of War”

A year ago, we saw Google roll out the Chrome Browser, push energy behind Android and keep plodding along in their low key fashion of doing great things.
Today, we’re in the world of WinMobile failing, the Chrome OS around the corner, announcements of Android based netbooks and rumors of the Chrome OS rolling out soon in China on non-Intel processor machines.
Reminds me of Sun Tzu’s Art of War:
- “Therefore the clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy’s will to be imposed on him.”
- “Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.”
Or more directly, don’t attack the enemy (Windows/Intel/monopoly) head on, instead go where they are weak (Mobile/Netbooks/open market).
Is there any question on we’re watching a well organized world revolution in progress?
No seriously, any question at all?
Sneak peak of Chrome OS on a device from China?

Google is point to the release of Chrome OS in late 2010.
Song Jiang of “Shanzi.com” says it’s hearing whispers about the OS showing up on a device from China “soon” on devices powered by the Chinese-designed Loongson CPU.
Though I would love to see it, I’m guessing that it’s a very stripped down version of Chrome if anything because it’s too early…unless of course Google has something else up it’s sleeve.
Read more about it from Song JiangĀ here.
