Bad News For the Google Chrome Browser?

New from the web seems mixed….with some still talking about the coolness of the new features while others are talking about flaws and problems.

On one hand we have Serdar Yegulap at InformationWeek  half complaining about Chrome “you’re creating at least as many problems as you’re solving”.

See the link:

And then again, ZDNet’s Ryan Naraine talking about the security vulnerabilities…http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=1843

On-Demand Enterprise chimes in with how Chrome’s EULA gives Google “free reign to do whatever it wishes with any content you submit, post or display on or through Chrome. http://www.on-demandenterprise.com/blogs/27827494.html

Of course Google claims that there was an error in the EULA which will be corrected and made retroactive. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080903-google-on-chrome-eula-controversy-our-bad-well-change-it.html

Finally some have been testing out the claims of it being “crash proof” and are raising red flags there…http://profy.com/2008/09/03/bad-news-google-chrome-crashes/

Is anyone else thinking what I’m thinking?

Google stepped up, gave the world an early beta of their new open source browser , and SLAMMO, people start picking it apart.

Failure? Success? Who can tell the difference now.

One thing is for sure…on Day 2…all eyes were definitely on Chrome.

Are you having trouble with Chrome also? Leave a comment.

Time to download? 11am Press Conference Today At Google HQ…

There’s a press conference starting in a few minutes at Google’s HQ. There’s a growing speculation that the Chrome Browser will be available for download sometime during or shortly after the conference.

I think people are hoping that at the end of the conference Google opens up the flood gates…err links and has enough server power to handle the flood of wannabe Chromers.

Google Chrome – Why should you care?

Have you ever had your browser freeze up while you were working online? Maybe you were just surfing, or maybe like me and many others,  you experienced that sudden jolt of fear as your browser locked just after you entered your credit card number…

Most of the time when that happens to me, it’s not even the site or tab I’m on in my browser that’s causing problems, it’s another site in another tab that I stopped looking at 10 mins prior.

The promise of each browser window or tab being it’s own process is a technical way of saying that they’ve fixed it so when one site or “tab” in your browser goes bad, it doesn’t take you down with it.

Cool or cool? Trust me, if it works, it will be cool.

And this is just the start of the goodness.
