Google Chrome is more than a browser…

says “We’re applying the same kind of process isolation you find in modern operating systems”. In the now famous Google Chrome comic, Arnaud Weber (software engineer) says “We’re applying the same kind of process isolation you find in modern operating systems”.

...just like a modern operating system...

...just like a modern operating system...

Let’s face it, when you combine all the parts and pieces Google has created over the past couple of years, is there anyone who doesn’t doubt that this is another piece of Google’s master plan to build a replacement for Windows?

You now have mail(Gmail), applications (Google Apps), a process for writing your own applications (Webkit, Gears, etc) and now a user interface layer plus rendering layer plus task manager (Chrome). With the addition of key external pieces like Javascript, html editors, etc. I’m not sure if there’s anything I still need from Microsoft…

Google Chrome is more than a browser, it’s enabling technology and another piece of their replacement OS.
